Eco-educational event dedicated to Earth Day held at YSU
An eco-educational event was organized at Yerevan State University, initiated jointly by the Chair of Ecology and Nature Conservation of the Faculty of Biology and Hayantar SNCO. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage the involvement of young people in environmental initiatives.

Karen Ghazaryan, the Dean of YSU Faculty of Biology, emphasized the importance of the event, stating, " Earth Day is not just symbolic; it serves as a reminder that our actions have either a positive or negative impact on our planet. By taking small steps today, we can lay the foundation for greater changes in the future."
Sevak Markosyan, the Director of Hayantar SNCO, highlighted the significance of such events in the educational environment. "Today, global attention is focused on the issues of the Earth, and as members of society, we are not only obligated to talk about these problems but also to take action—even through small initiatives."
During the event, students watched an environmental documentary, listened to presentations on forest conservation, climate change, and the challenges facing Armenia's ecosystems, which led to active and engaging discussions.
Following the presentations, a quiz combining educational and playful elements was held. The questions covered topics such as the history of environmental protection, local flora, and global ecological issues. The most active participants in the quiz were awarded personalized saplings, and all participants received certificates of appreciation.
The event concluded with a tree-planting activity in the newly opened park of Yerevan State University, where students, faculty members, and representatives of Hayantar planted trees together. The tree planting served as a clear message of preserving and restoring our environment, starting from the university itself. It highlighted the connection between humans and nature, as well as the small contributions to the restoration of biodiversity.
